The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
The men and women of the Escalon Fire District have assisted the US Marine Corp with their Toys 4 Tots drive in our area for several years.
Distribution of the holiday toys will be done at the Escalon Fire Department on Coley Ave.on Tuesday December 21, 2010 at 10 am.
Donation boxes are located throughout the community and residents are asked to drop new, unwrapped toys suitable for a variety of ages into the collection boxes between now and Dec. 20th for sorting and distribution to local families on Dec. 21 at 10 am and Escalon Fire station # on Coley Ave.
