Freak Storm Hits Escalon
In a one hour period May 2, 1998 a freak storm dumped over 4 inches of rain on the City of Escalon and surrounding areas. Streets were flooded and street drains overwhelmed.    The deluge cause severe damage to the Escalon Club Bar in the downtown area when roof drains plugged up.  The resulting build up of rainwater on the roof caused a section to collapse into the bar below and sending customers scrambling for safety. No one was hurt. The hole in the roof measured approximately 20 X 50 feet.
